About L'Aura Perfumery Stores |
|
| L'Aura Perfumery is a long-established specialist perfumery and one of Britain's largest independent perfume shop chains. Owned and run by husband and wife team, Brian and Lynn Moore, L'Aura Perfumery opened its first store at 5 Market Place, Hitchin in 1994, some 14 years ago. Choosing this stunningly attractive traditional market town proved a wise move and, with a great range of top designer brands and friendly, well trained staff, L'Aura soon built up a loyal following of customers, becoming the destination of choice for local perfume enthusiasts. |

| In 1997, three years after opening the Hitchin store, L'Aura opened its second perfume shop in the West Gate Shopping Centre, Stevenage. Setting up in a covered shopping area in Britain's first new town seemed something of a risk but the shoppers and visitors to this busy shopping town, soon made the Stevenage branch of L'Aura a great success. Two years later in 1999, L'Aura decided to take the plunge again and opened a further perfume store at 9 Arena Parade, Letchworth Garden City. This gave L'Aura a perfume shop in all three of North Hertfordshire's major towns and again the combination of a fabulous fine fragrance product range and enthusiastic, helpful staff meant loyal shoppers in Britain's first garden city ensured the venture's success. |

| With the whole of North Hertfordshire pretty well covered and a great deal more fragrant that it had been 5 years previously, L'Aura looked further afield for its next store in 2000. Brian and Lynn's enthusiasm for horse racing and their regular visits to Newmarket Racecourse to use the Annual Members badges they've had for some years, made the Headquarters of British Racing an easy choice for perfume shop number four. Again, the Newmarket store became very successful and has possibly the most eye-catching range of customers from local characters like Willie Snaith, the former Royal jockey, to Frankie Dettori, now probably the most famous jockey in the world. Summer race meetings mean a huge influx of visitors from all over the world speaking a variety of languages creating a busy, bustling shopping centre and an interesting challenge for our staff. |

In 2003, L'Aura was approached by the agents of the landlords who own the Lion Yard Shopping Centre in Cambridge to see if the company wanted to open a perfume shop in their shopping centre. Flatteringly, they wanted a high-class perfume store in the centre, rather than a discount operator and L'Aura opened in time for Christmas at Unit 51, 22 Lion Yard, Cambridge.
Recently, L'Aura has been devoting its expansion effort to developing its online perfume shop, which is proving to be as popular and successful as the stores have been.

The Staff |

L'Aura has a large team of 25 dedicated and hardworking staff who manage and run the stores, supplemented by key temporary staff who work over the busy Christmas period. Many of L'Aura's staff are long-serving and have been with the Company for over 5 years and the business enjoys a very low rate of staff turnover, due to their enjoyment of the challenging roles they undertake.
The Hitchin store is now run and managed by Anita Beck. Anita joined L'Aura in 2006 working full time in the Stevenage store. However, her enthusiasm and hard work soon brought her to the fore and she has now been given the opportunity to run her own store. Anita has been busy revamping the Hitchin store and is enjoying the friendly market town atmosphere Hitchin offers. Anita is assisted by Amy Skelly who works part-time in the Hitchin store, though Amy is expecting her first baby soon, so will be departing on Maternity Leave. |

Claire Gentle, normally manages the Stevenage store having joined L'Aura over 5 years ago and has been instrumental in making L'Aura the perfume store of choice in Stevenage. Recently, Claire went on Maternity Leave and has had her first baby, a boy called Dylan. In her absence, Rebecca Basford known as Bea, who had been managing L'Aura's Letchworth Garden City store has taken over in Stevenage.
The new full time staff member in Stevenage is Alicia Skinner who is a very cheery, keen and enthusiastic addition to our team.

The Manager of the Letchworth store is Lauren Massey who took over after a spell working as the full-time sales assistant in Letchworth and also fulfilled the role of Internet Sales Manager. Ably assisted by her full time sales assistant, Chenai Burnett, Lauren looks after the day to day shoppers in Letchworth, as well as all L'Aura's internet shoppers.
The North Hertfordshire stores share a pool of dedicated part-time staff who work in the Hitchin, Stevenage and Letchworth stores. Sasha Gardner and Emmi Morrison have been with L'Aura many years and more recent recruits include: Jessica Atkinson-Ryan, Harriet Brooke, Faye Willans and Nicole Tofis
In Newmarket, the L'Aura store is managed by Michelle Lee, who first joined L'Aura as a part timer when the Cambridge store opened in 2003. Michelle, her weekday part-time assistant, Lucy Gaynor and Saturday assistant Catherine Nicholson run the Newmarket store which has the usual great range of fragrances. |

The Cambridge store is managed by Hanan Kobeissi who joined us on the stores first day of opening in the run up to Christmas 2003. Hanan was promoted to Store Manager in November 2007 and is helped by Georgina Mansfield full time and part-time by Sara Vadhati and Miriam Harradence. In addition to the usual fabulous fragrance range, Cambridge also offers the full range of the exclusive Christian Dior Make-up and Skincare, and the natural NUXE range.

| All these fragrance brands are available in store but not all are available from the online perfume shop, as some perfume houses do not allow their products to be sold via this medium. L'Aura are hoping to persuade some of them to change their minds when they see the quality of the website, the extensive range on offer and the level of customer care L'Aura provides. |

The exclusive NUXE natural skincare range is also available in our Cambridge and Letchworth Garden City stores.
The Letchworth and Newmarket stores stock a glittering collection of costume jewellery whilst all stores stock designer sunglasses by Ray Ban, D&G, Burberry and Bvlgari.
